August Photo of The Day : Well August is here and I've started my 6th month anniversary with the Dailies Crew and I must say I have met so many wonderful people and fantastic talented artists here. You all have brought a smile to my face each & every day along with helping my creativity EXPLOAD allowing my artistic ideas to come out on film which can only benefit myself & my clients. I have learned so many new techniques as well, even after 30 years of playing with photography all my instructors were right, you NEVER stop learning in this game. My Task At Hand : My version of "Daily Photos" will be ever-so-typical of myself: 'A Different Little Twist'!! I recently began creating this website, and I'm planning to use a 'Daily Photos' gallery as an impetus: one of my present goals is to add several photos per day into this website. As I'm doing so, I will choose one of the photos to include in this 365 day project! Occasionally, there will be days when the photo was actually taken on that particular day. This will probably be governed by available time and my creative spirit! The photos within this gallery are available to order as prints and other merchandise; click on the 'buy' icons. I will appreciate any comments and/or critiques; click on the 'add comments' on the bottom left. You can also vote on the photos, if you choose; drag your pointer onto the enlarged image on the right; a box will appear on the top right which allows the voting process. One/Day Project : Since 2/29/08, I've been uploading a photo every day to this gallery. The idea is to challenge myself to take interesting shots, even if it means having to stage some sort of random scene. Some photos are heavily photoshopped, but the rule is that I have to take the source photo on that particular day - no pulling from the past. I also try and add comments about how I shot/edited each photo. Please comment and let me know what you think!

Daily Photos : 8/15...Forgive me. I picked up some materials on "No Budget" Studio Tips...I made my wife come with me to the crafts store to pick up some background material and some plastic (for diffusion)..This has been my Achilles heel so far so I'm going to develop some studio techniques or die trying. Here are the first results. 8/11...Some pix of murals in Venice Beach CA...a funky little coastal town near LA...8/10...It's pet's day...two of our cats...Ren and Stimpy...yes, named when my son and I were into the show. Ren is still with us (a lard butt at 22 lbs.)...Stimpy has gone on, but she was a most wonderful cat. 8/9...Got two photos displayed at the Orange Art Assn Gallery at Chapman College...didn't win any awards, but was jazzed to have made the cut given the level of competition. 8/8...Too much going on for new pix...digging back to the archives for the next batch of shots. Including some scans from an earlier trip to England and Venice.

365 Don't count the days, make the days count! : Oops Leap year, 366! "365 Days" is a project I started on January 20, 2008. It's a photo-journal, I'll take pictures daily (that is the goal), choose one or two, and post it to this site semi-daily. I am excited about the prospect of being able to look back and see my past year in photos. I hope to learn alot along the way about framing, lighting, perspective and timing (basically everything). I'd appreciate any pointers/tips you have to offer. Don't be shy, leave a comment! 365-ish : 365 self portraits. Can I actually do it? Inspired by many others, I decided to give my creativity a kick in the pants with a Daily Photo project. With life happening too fast, quite often I lose the spark that drives me to pick up the camera. Hopefully I can maintain not only this project, but the ability to develop more as a photographer. Ideally, the majority of these will be self-portraits to help me get over my image complex and to document the most important, memorable moments of each day. My rules: 1. At least part of myself in each shot. Every 24 hours. 2. EXIF data pulls rank. I travel and can't always upload on a timely matter, but the timestamp is as the timestamp does... 3. Try to document the dominant activity/event of the day. This is a journal-type project for me, too. 4. Having help is OK. While I always set up the shot myself, occasionally the location requires having someone else hit the shutter for me.
